Administrative History
Jaconiah ‘Jake’ Frey came to Western Canada from Kitchener, Ontario in 1918, and settled near Acadia Valley. Frey raised grain and cattle for over 40 years in that area, and served on the boards of the Acadia Co-op, the Board of the Alberta Federation of Agriculture, and the Co-operative Union of Alberta.
In 1949 he became a Director of the UFA, and served many years as Vice-President. Frey was elected as President in 1961, and retired in 1963. He passed away in 1984.
