Administrative History
Excerpt: The principle of group organization has become a dominating issue in the present Federal Election campaign. Leaders of both the old-line parties, and the reactionaries of both parties, have assailed the United Farmers of Alberta, and have charged the organized farmers with adherence to a disruptive doctrine. Premier Meighen and Hon. W. L. Mackenzie King find themselves on common ground in attacking the farmers' movement. On the other hand the principle for which the organized farmers stand has gained many new adherents, both in the ranks of organized labor and among the independent voter of the cities, while the approval which the new Alberta government has won from all classes since it came to power has led prominent former opponents to revise their views. In his [sic.] pamphlet the views of various public men and newspapers upon the subject of group organization are given.
