Administrative History
H. E. G. H. Scholefield had run as a conservative candidate in the electoral district of Cochrane in the 1917 Alberta general election. Scholefield was one of the founding members of the Crossfield UFA Local. In the 1919 by-election in Cochrane, he served as Chairman of the nomination committee for the United Farmers of Alberta in which Alexander Moore was nominated as the UFA candidate. Alexander Moore won the by-election, becoming the first UFA MLA. Scholefield was UFA Vice-President from 1921 to 1931. After retiring as vice-president of UFA, Scholefield took an appointment with the Relief Department in Edmonton. Scholefield passed away in 1934.
