The fonds consists of the 1928 Certificate of Incorporation, Memorandum of Association, quarterly and annual financial statements, minutes of annual meetings (1926-1949) with lists of shareholders, share certificates issued to shareholders, agreements, and instructions to mailing room staff.
Administrative History
The official newspaper of the United Farmers of Alberta, The U.F.A., began publication in March 1922. W. Norman Smith was its editor. Initially publication was supervised by a committee of the United Farmers of Alberta, but in 1928 "The U.F.A." Limited was incorporated under the Companies Act of Alberta to allow the newspaper to operate with legal independence. The U.F.A. was renamed The United Farmer in 1934 and ceased publication in 1936. A subsequent publication of the United Farmers of Alberta Co-operative Association, 1962-1985, was also titled The United Farmer. The officers of the United Farmers of Alberta generally were concurrently officers of The U.F.A. Limited. The company apparently wound up its affairs in 1949.

The Bently U.F.A. Local No. 240 was founded in 1919, in a district near Coronation, Alberta. By 1926 its name had changed to Hiram U.F.A. Local No. 240. Throughout its history it had about 20 to 30 members. It was still active in 1949.
File consists of Annual, Board and Executive meeting minutes, as well as notices of meetings, agendas and reports of the Alberta Co-Operative Union from 1951 to 1955.
File consists of minutes and agendas from annual and board meetings of the Alberta Co-operative Union, as well as memorandums and financial statements. Many are signed by or addressed to Douglas Thornton.

Iron Springs Oil Co-op Ltd. distributed petroleum products to its members in the hamlet of Iron Springs, Lethbridge County, Alberta. It was affiliated with the United Farmers of Alberta Co-operative. It was established sometime before 1969 and amalgamated with UFA Co-op in 1977.

Transferred from UFA before 2009, including from the UFA Records Management department.

Administrative History
Federated Co-operatives Ltd. (FCL) was formed in 1928 to provide services to local consumer co-ops in Saskatchewan. In 1944 it amalgamated with Consumers Co-operative Refineries Ltd. (founded 1934 in Regina) and in 1955 it amalgamated with Manitoba Co-operative Wholesale Ltd. A further amalgamation with Alberta Co-operative Wholesale Association in 1961 resulted in an organization active in a territory from northwestern Ontario to British Columbia. In addition to its wholesaling, warehousing and marketing services to co-ops, it operated retail outlets, sawmills, a coal mine, a petroleum refinery, petroleum exploration properties, feed mills, a fertilizer plant, a chemicals complex, and Western Co-op College. It was headquartered in Saskatoon.

Administrative History
Sexsmith U.F.A. Local No. 204 was established early in the history of the United Farmers of Alberta, in the community of Sexsmith in the Peace River region of Alberta. It built a community hall sometime before 1929. In 1949, after the establishment of the Farmers' Union of Alberta, it became the Sexsmith F.U.A. Local No. 135. By 1956 the membership had dwindled, and the ability of the Local to sustain the community hall was in doubt.
The fonds consists of minute books, with membership and financial records, and one letter.
Administrative History
Namaka Farmers Union No. 122 had its organizational meeting on December 29, 1909 at Namaka, a district east of Calgary, Alberta. It was a Local of the United Farmers of Alberta and its name was later styled Namaka U.F.A. Local No. 122. It was engaged in cooperative buying of twine. It was still active in 1935.
