Administrative History
John U. Erickson, 1909- , was born in a railway construction camp in the Prairies to Swedish immigrant parents. He grew up on a farm in the Camrose district of Alberta, and received a post-secondary education in accounting and management. He married Ada "Babs" Renville. He held managerial positions in the retail lumber business, in large-scale farming, and in the provincial parks system of Alberta. He was also an active volunteer in agricultural and community organizations and the Lutheran Church. From 1961 to 1964 he was a Director of UFA Co-op. In 1965 his career in the parks system took him to Lethbridge, where he eventually retired.
